They observe the moment an interface passes through a life. They do not look at the thing. They look at the relationship it opens with the person and with what that person is trying to do.

An interface is not just a screen. It is any surface where a human capacity meets the world. A chair. A drug. An answering machine. A bureaucratic procedure. A pocket.

Each interface changes the cost of a verb. It facilitates, hinders, accelerates, interrupts, sustains, or transforms an action. The Note tracks that verb: what became easier, what became more difficult, and what remains afterward.

When there is someone to whom the observed data can be returned, the Note returns it. That is Proof of Life.

They are not reviews. They are not success stories. They are investigations into the power that design grants or removes — and the capacity that remains when the interface disappears.
